In August 2024, two groups of enthusiastic participants gathered for a Via Ferrata adventure organized by Four Links. The day included safety training, knot-tying exercises, and a guided climb, all aimed at fostering teamwork and building new skills.
On a beautiful afternoon of August 20, 2024, at 4 PM, our group of ten met at the parking lot, ready for an exciting adventure, while on August 25, 2024, at 3 PM, nine participants gathered for the event. The day began with Aneta, our guide, giving a brief introduction to the organising NGO – Four Links, the e29 network and the various impactful projects we are involved in. The weather was ideal for our outdoor adventure, adding to the excitement.
After the introduction, Aneta conducted a thorough safety training session, where she emphasized common mistakes to avoid. As part of the training, everyone learned how to tie the prusik knot by hand, a crucial skill before approaching the Via Ferrata route. With Aneta’s guidance, each participant then equipped themselves with the necessary gear, ensuring everything was securely fastened with a cross-check.
The second part of our adventure saw the group putting their newly learned skills to the test. Under Aneta’s supervision, participants practiced tying the prusik knot on the Ferrata rope and securing themselves properly. This hands-on experience was both challenging and rewarding, with everyone successfully mastering the technique. The group was highly engaged and supportive of one another, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere. The feedback was positive, with participants expressing satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment. The day not only provided a fun and educational experience but also helped strengthen bonds within the group.
This Ferrata experience was just one of the many exciting opportunities we offer.
