Video Recap of Via Ferrata Izvoare I.
On October 21st, 2023, ARAO organized a memorable via ferrata event at Via Ferrata Goats Danger in Izvoare-Madaras. The scenic yet challenging route attracted 28 eager participants, all ready to learn new skills and experience the thrill of climbing. Led by seasoned instructors Andreea and Bodor, the day offered both learning and fun.
The event began with a detailed introduction to the equipment. Andreea and Bodor demonstrated essential knots, including the double fisherman’s and prusik, ensuring a solid foundation for safe climbing. The participants’ skill levels varied, so to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort, they divided the group by skill level. The more confident climbers started first, while others practiced knot-tying at the base.
The first group, with guidance from the instructors, successfully navigated the route, applying their new skills in a real environment. This structure allowed each person to progress at their own pace, reducing crowding on the ferrata. Once the first group finished, the second group eagerly began their climb.
By day’s end, every participant had completed the route, feeling both accomplished and supported by the community. The experience left everyone feeling empowered, and many expressed excitement for future challenges and outdoor adventures.
