Via Ferrata Cuha Valley

On July 9, 2024, an outdoor via ferrata training session was held in Cuha Gorge, Hungary, aimed at supporting individuals facing geographical obstacles. Participants joined this EU-funded Erasmus+ event, designed to introduce them to the basics of via ferrata safety and movement while promoting active and healthy lifestyles.

The event took place along the scenic via ferrata routes in Cuha Valley, with the Cuha stream nearby enhancing the natural setting.

Prior to the event, participants received a series of tutorial videos covering essential via ferrata safety concepts. On the day of the event, professional trainers reviewed and reinforced these safety guidelines. The program included technical training in safety procedures and movement techniques for via ferrata routes. Participants were led by a professional trainer, to ensure hands-on instruction and attention to individual progress. Key components covered included:

– Basics of knot-tying for secure harnessing

– Proper use of via ferrata safety gear

– Movement techniques for climbing efficiency and safety

All participants were Hungarian residents or citizens, with an interest in outdoor activities. This event offered a unique, accessible opportunity for participants to explore new outdoor skills, fostering personal growth, and promoting an active community.
