From June 27 to June 30, 2024 – 39 participants from Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Portugal gathered in Rokytnice nad Jizerou located in Krkonoše mountains for a hiking mobility project. Organized by Four Links and part of the e29 network, the project aimed to elevate the qualifications of hiking instructors by immersing them in diverse terrains and conditions.

Chata pod Lipami served as our base, and the event kicked off with participants arriving on June 27. After settling in, we shared a communal dinner, discussing the project’s objectives, Erasmus+ opportunities, and the goals of our NGO within the e29 network. Aneta, our coordinator, provided the hiking routes for the next days via mapy.cz on Discord, ensuring everyone was well-prepared.

June 28 marked the start of our hiking adventures. After a warm-up led by Sabina, an experienced hiker from Slovakia, we embarked on a 17.9 km hike with a 770 m altitude gain. The route took us through picturesque landscapes, following the Mumlava River to the stunning Mumlava waterfalls, with a refreshing break at Krakonošova snídaně. The day ended with participants relaxing by the pool, playing volleyball, and reflecting on the day’s challenges.

On June 29, after a warm-up led by Jan, a PE teacher student from Czechia, we set out on an even more demanding 18.7 km hike with a 903 m altitude gain. The hike featured spectacular sights like the Huťský waterfall, Dvoračky viewpoint, Pančavský waterfall or the spring of river Elbe. The route tested our endurance and skills, with participants expressing high levels of satisfaction and noticeable improvements in their hiking competencies.

June 30 was a designated travel day, but those who stayed enjoyed a short hike to the mountain Stráž, exploring multiple scenic viewpoints before saying their goodbyes. The project successfully enhanced the participants’ skills in organizing hiking activities in various conditions and terrains, fulfilling its objective to raise the overall level of qualifications and competencies related to hiking.

This hiking adventure was just one of many we offer. Don’t miss out on future chances like this and follow @e29.eu and @Four Links on social media. Stay updated on our website for upcoming projects and explore the opportunities!
