Kunbaracs, Hungary

For eight days in Kunbaracs, Hungary, young people from across Europe came together to explore mental well-being in a supportive and inclusive space. With academic pressures, societal expectations, and shifting social dynamics affecting mental health, this exchange provided a much-needed opportunity to learn, share, and grow.

The program combined interactive workshops, creative activities, and open discussions to deepen participants’ understanding of mental health challenges while equipping them with practical coping strategies. One of the most impactful sessions was a workshop on resilience and well-being, where participants explored real-life mental health issues, discussed prevention strategies, and created action plans to support themselves and their communities.

Creativity as a Tool for Self-Expression

Creativity played a key role throughout the exchange. A theater workshop encouraged participants to use performance as a way to explore leadership, public speaking, and personal growth. The experience helped them express emotions, build confidence, and break down stigma surrounding mental health. A lively debate forum further pushed participants to think critically and discuss different perspectives on social inclusion and mental well-being, fostering empathy and respectful dialogue.

Adventure and Connection in Kecskemét

Beyond structured workshops, participants stepped outside their comfort zones with an exciting study visit to Kecskemét. The “Crazy 50 Challenge” turned the city into an adventure playground, encouraging teams to complete creative tasks, interact with locals, and embrace spontaneous experiences. This fun yet meaningful activity reinforced teamwork, problem-solving, and self-confidence in an unexpected way.

Sustainability and Well-Being

Sustainability was another key aspect of the exchange, with eco-friendly practices integrated throughout the program to highlight the connection between a healthy environment and personal well-being. By the end of the exchange, participants left not only with new friendships but also with the confidence, skills, and motivation to support their own mental health and that of those around them.

This youth exchange proved that mental well-being is not just about individual self-care but also about creating supportive communities, fostering open conversations, and embracing creativity as a tool for resilience.
