Video Recap of the Rabaçal Ecovia Adventure

With great excitement and anticipation, eleven young adventurers from different parts of the country came together for the Rabaçal Ecovia Adventure, ready for a weekend packed with adrenaline, friendship, and a deep connection with nature. This event drew people from various regions, all united by their passion for exploring the natural beauty of the Ecovia do Rabaçal and challenging themselves along the way. From the very first moment, the energy was contagious, with each conversation, smile, and preparation fueling the spirit of adventure that would carry them through the days ahead.

After an interesting night at the campsite, the second day began bright and early, with everyone geared up for the 6.8 km hike along the stunning Rabaçal river. Over the course of two hours, the group enjoyed lush, green landscapes and the calming sound of flowing water alongside the trail. The berries and grapes found on the way were an amazing bonus too. While the hike was serene, it also provided a steady challenge, allowing each step to become an opportunity to connect deeply with the natural surroundings.

Arriving at the Via Ferrata, the excitement reached new heights. After a safety briefing and equipment overview, where they learned about the basic safety rules in Via Ferrata, how to use the resting carabiner or do a Prusik loop, participants started to take on the vertical ascent of the Ecovia do Rabaçal’s Via Ferrata. Climbing up the rocky face demanded courage and strength, but the thrill of reaching each viewpoint was truly rewarding. Crossing the monkey bridge was an exhilarating highlight for participants, as they braved the heights and let themselves dangle over the landscape, feeling the rush of adventure and adrenaline with every step and sway. This unique experience combined thrill with breathtaking views, making it an unforgettable part of the Rabaçal expedition.

Throughout the days and nights, the sense of camaraderie grew stronger with each shared moment. From fireside conversations to refreshing swims in the river, savoring berries and grapes foraged along the way, and moments of triumph on the trails, every part of the adventure added to the unforgettable camaraderie and connection with nature shared by the group. This adventure became not only a chance to push personal limits but also an opportunity to connect deeply with nature and forge lasting friendships. By the end, everyone returned home with the feeling of having experienced something unique, enriching, and inspiring—and already planning the next expedition!
