Our Project

The NetAware youth exchange kicked off with lots of energy and excitement as young people from Romania, Portugal, Lithuania, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and Czechia came together in the peaceful town of Mezőkövesd, Hungary, from April 7th to 16th. The event focused on digital awareness, teaching participants how to spot online risks and be more critical of the information they come across. They learned how to recognize fake news, tackle cyberbullying, and understand the importance of being responsible with what they share online.

But it wasn’t all about digital skills there was a big focus on cultural exchange, too. Participants bonded through icebreakers, team-building games, and an unforgettable intercultural evening where everyone shared their food, music, and traditions. Throughout the week, they worked in groups on activities like creating videos about online scams and brainstorming ways to improve data protection with two-factor authentication. These tasks helped everyone develop a better understanding of online safety and how to protect their data.

On the last day, the group received their Youthpass certificates, marking the end of an amazing experience. Everyone reflected on what they had learned and how they could use these new skills going forward. The friendships made and the lessons in digital safety will stick with them long after the exchange. With more confidence and a better understanding of how to stay safe online, they left Mezőkövesd ready to tackle the digital world with a fresh perspective.
